3 well lit photos of the item, plus pictures of any damage. In the case of photos, more is better. Buyers can't see the item in person so the more of it you show, the less likely they'll be surprised by something. Some suggestions below:
On the Starter plan you can have 10 pictures per item, Intermediate gives you 12, and on the Unlimited plan you get 20! Use them !
- Take pictures from multiple angles, in a well lighted area.
- Front , Back, Sides, Top and Bottom
- The photo-taking back-drop or background surface should be clean and uniformly white (or very light grey or very light tan/ off-white), evenly-illuminated with curved base at wall-to-floor intersection to eliminate shadows in the image.
- Showcase its history. If you have photos of the item in its original location, include those. Remember, every picture of your item tells a story!
- Show any patina, "beauty marks" or defining characteristics of the item.
- Take close ups. You may want close-ups of certain characteristics, like damage or wear, or intricate details that need explanation.
- Pictures of the item should be larger than 50% of the image used. Buyers want to see the item, not the background.
- Drawings - We have included a separate tab (in the Active Inventory) with a place for drawings. This is for pictures of technical or architectural drawings of a product, an installation drawing, or a page from an original product manual that you want to include. This is a great selling point, too!
